Umpire Information
The information below describes Umpire Rules and Policies for the Cal Cup Tournament.

*Umpiring Deposit Refund Requirements
In order to qualify for a refund of a team's Umpiring Deposit, the Designated Umpire must meet the following requirements:
- Attend the Mandatory Umpire Meeting.
- Officiate a minimum of 2 matches per day on Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
- Must not be committed to more than 2 teams as a player or coach.
- Must officiate all matches assigned to him / her.
- Must be a Certified Umpire with the USFHA or FHF. Exceptions can be granted to qualified non-certified umpires at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
- Must Register Online as a Designated Umpire no later than April 21.
Umpire Meeting
All umpires are required to attend the Umpire Meeting. Non-attendance waives your eligibility for recieving your team's Umpiring Deposit Refund.

Umpire's Uniform
Super Division Umpires are required to wear black trousers. Grass Umpires are required to wear black trousers, shorts or kilts. Any color socks and shoes are OK. Umpires jerseys will be distributed at the respective Mandatory Umpire Meetings at the Hyatt Westlake. Please bring an extra Red & Blue T-shirt in case of a color clash with teams.
Free Hotel Accomodations (Super and Dedicated Umpires Only)
Limited free accommodations (available at the Tournament Director's discretion) are available to umpires who meet the following requirements:
- Is not playing for or coaching for any team.
- Is not a designated umpire by any team. (Registration still required).
- Resides more than 100 miles from the tournament site.
- Is a FIH or USFHA rated umpire.
- Grass Umpires must be willing to officiate at least 4 matches per day.
- Super Division Umpires must be willing to officiate at least 2 matches per day.
- Must attend the appropriate Mandatory Umpire Meeting at the Hyatt Westlake.
- Must be willing to share a room with another umpire of the same gender.
